The members of Haven are excited about our upcoming semester! Last year was a huge success with Friday night OUTings, drink specials at Tonic/Quarter Barrel, Queer Icon Halloween Party, Basement Displacement, Awareness Week, and Lavender Graduation.
This semester we hope to hold more events and increase attendance to Miami University’s graduate queer population!

oin Haven for our first “OUT”ing of the semester. Come out, meet some new people, catch up with old friends, and have a great time at some cool places!
We will meet at in Oxford at Quarter Barrel Brewery and Pub on Friday, February 4 (107 E Church St., Oxford) at 7:00 for dinner/drinks (happy hour specials) before moving on to the Old Street Saloon (gay bar) in Monroe (13 Old Street, Monroe). Lastly, since it is the first Friday of the month, some of us will move on to Cincinnati Guerilla Queer Bar (location TBA on Thursday). Come for one, two, or all three of our stops!
If you’re willing to share space (and gas cost) in your car or would like to attend, but don’t have a ride, please contact Bonnie McGinnis (nicklebm@muohio.edu) no later than Wednesday, February 2 and we’ll try to help.
Please share and invite whomever you want, but do remember that Haven is a graduate student organization and all must be over 21 to attend.

The 2010 Haven Election Bash was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who came out, voted in new officers, and enjoyed a couple cocktails! Congratulations to the new executive board officers for the 2010-2011 school year. Be sure to check out the pictures from the evening on our photos page.
It’s election season, and Haven is joining in the party.
On September 16, 2010, we host Election Bash 2010 at Tonic Lounge (45 East High Street, below 45 East Bar and Grill), beginning at 7pm. Come dressed as your “favorite” political persona, or just watch our candidates perform as theirs.
Last-minute nominations for 2010-2011 Haven officer positions begin at 7pm, followed immediately by candidate speeches and voting. Confetti and handshakes go until we can go no more.
Come. Vote. Perform. Celebrate.
Thanks to all who came to downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine for our first “Outing” on Friday, August 27th! We had an excellent turnout and plan to hold monthly social events at Cincinnati/Dayton nightspots throughout the year.
